Caleb's Birthday Pics

Caleb's Birthday started with breakfast in bed......then we met his cousins and aunt for lunch. In the evening we had the party with friends over and ended with a game of hide and seek throughout the neighborhood. :/ (crazy) Love my boy...had a great day celebrating his 15th Birthday!!

I remember growing up and watching my mother look at cookbooks and more cookbooks and I used to think......my poor mother is just pretending.....to enjoy browsing through those extremely boring, useless books :)

Well, time has a way of maturing our little pea sized brains and we wake up and realize, now I am the cook who has to have a home cooked meal everyday for 30 days out of the calendar....and I have boys that are starving 45 minutes after they eat 2 sandwiches at Subway!!! Can you imagine, I can barely finish a half of a Veggie Sandwich.

So I am constantly on the alert for great and new recipes (because I believe baking has now become my full time job at Home) Wouldn't have it any other way I love baking and having the boys eat it and then I can try something new!!

So all that was to say there is a web page that has some awesome recipes on it and also some....... Copycat restaurant recipes. It is called CDKitchen. Browse through the site and see what you think.

Happy Birthday Caleb!!!

Family Reuinon - Smith's

So we went to a family reunion on my grandma's side of the family. She comes from a large family of Smiths up in Washington. The park we met at was very pretty, would love to go back sometime for a picnic and inter-tubing down the river. We knew absolutely no one except our immediate family...but that's OK....at least we participated :)

Oh I forgot the best part....we got some snazzy name tags!!!

Fourth of July 2011

The fourth of July......we went to Salem and had lunch with my sister at Best Little Roadhouse . This is not a chain restaurant and the food is excellent. They have huge servings which please my boys.....one of the side entrees on my plate was a HUGE sweet potato, baked with butter and brown sugar in it. Oh my it was fabulous!!!! The establishment is in south Salem on your way to Minto Brown Park.

The we went to the town of Independence :) for the fireworks. Kind of over populated for sure!!!
